Dr Bruce Durie was born and raised in Fife, but was stolen by the fairies and taken to Glasgow where he started and ran the Postgraduate professional Genealogical Studies at the University of Strathclyde. He is best known for his books for The History Press on genealogy and local history, and his long-running BBC Radio series 'Digging Up Your Roots'. He is a popular speaker on the Local and Family History circuit in the UK and abroad.
