Kristien Potgieter was born and raised in Johannesburg. She has a PhD in Creative Writing from Bath Spa University and an MA in Creative Writing from the University of East Anglia, where she was the 20152016 Booker Prize Scholar. She currently works as an editor in educational publishing. Both her fiction and academic research have been published online and in print.
