Like many abused children, Daniel then suffered in silence for decades asan adult. Now, he''s committed to stopping the cycle of abuse that causes so muchpain. Breaking the Cycle of Silence proposes age-appropriate sexual abuse trainingand education in schools. It teaches children what is appropriate, shows adults thesigns of abuse to look for, and offers sources of support for victims. With suchtraining and education, we can identify and stop abusers, preventing them fromclaiming victim after victim for years.

Autorenporträt
DANIEL PEARSE is a sexual abuse survivor. The abuse he suffered for nine years in a foster home run by a pedophile affected his life for decades afterward. Daniel buried the abuse in the far corners of his mind, only to have it surface at age forty-five, at which point he became aware of its effect on his life. Since then, Daniel's mission has been ending child sexual abuse. He continues to petition Canadian lawmakers to adopt Daniel's Law and hopes that one day, child sexual abuse prevention education will transcend beyond schools to reach parents, teachers, child service organizations, and any adults working or volunteering around children.
