Lt. Col. Frederick Spencer Chapman was a modern day British Spartan. His gritty character was inadvertently nurtured from an early age since his childhood that resembled his famous counterparts in ancient Sparta. Chapman's incessant physical and mental training taught him endurance, fortitude and imbued a tenacious spirit within him. His adventurous life saw him participating in Polar expeditions at the Arctic region and mountaineering at the Alps and the Himalayas. He won fame as a war hero operating for almost three and a half years behind enemies' line during World War II in Japanese occupied Malaya.
