Jay D. Homnick is Deputy Editor of The American Spectator, a leading magazine of politics and culture, based in Washington DC. His columns are noted for both wit and wisdom. He is also a Biblical and Talmudic scholar, relating traditional teachings to contemporary life.

He is a passionate defender of the Constitution, hearing the echoes of Biblical enlightenment and morals in its principles. His three sons and five daughters fill him with joy and pride, although only daughter Ellie in high school and son Abraham in middle school keep the nest in Miami from going empty. His wife, Reva nee Berlin, went from actress in Hollywood, California, to Executive Director of a 500-family synagogue in Hollywood, Florida.
