John B. Conaway spent over 17 years in the Pentagon as a general officer, during which time he developed and cemented strong and continuing relationships with many of the Congressional members who most influence the appropriations and procurement actions of the United States Government. He maintains a strong and extremely successful presence on the Hill on behalf of many of the country's most prominent corporations. LtGen Conaway spent over 37 years in military service, beginning in 1956 as a jet fighter pilot and culminating with his appointment by President Bush as Chief, National Guard Bureau before retiring in December 1993. Along the way, he held positions of leadership in both the West Virginia and Kentucky Air National Guard and eventually rose to the top of the National Guard . While in the Pentagon, he also served as Deputy Director of the Air National Guard, Director of the Air National Guard and Vice Chief, National Guard Bureau. He currently sits on the Board of Directors of many of the top academic, corporate and non-governmental agencies in the country, to include: University of Evansville, Mountaintop Technology, the International Telemedicine Collaboratory (ITC), AFBA Life Insurance, EWAIIT, and Chairman/CEO of Paratus Associates. He also sits as Chairman of the National Guard Youth Foundation.
