Shadow and the tribe are back again, and now they're ready to move on from the old house and their memories of Joseph. With a small kitten to look after, a boisterous dog to keep in check, and two twins who couldn't be more different, Shadow has his paws full. Although Joseph brought them together, he's no longer here to look after them and guide them, so the tribe has been forced to decide to become 'wild'.

Being no stranger to the streets due to his younger alley cat days, Shadow hopes that he can keep everyone safe while they search for a new home. However, returning to life without an owner brings up some negative reminders of the past, and Shadow hopes he doesn't slip back into his old ways. He's learnt a lot since Joseph took him in, and he valiantly tries to keep everyone together - but he can't account for the other unpredictable animals outside the house.

One chance meeting separates the tribe, leaving Shadow to fend for himself and Sophia the kitten. Sophia is furious that they've left the rest of the tribe, but Shadow is too exhausted to do anything - even argue back. Before he collapses, a stranger approaches them and offers them friendship and shelter. Although he's wary, Shadow soon learns to trust again and finds out about how other 'wild' animals live out their lives - but he can't stop thinking about his tribe. Will they be able to find each other, and will their family ever be the same again?

Cats Wild is the sequel to Oskar Leonard's first book, Cats Alone, initially published under the name 'K.M. Leonard'. Moving on from Cats Alone, Cats Wild covers the often emotional journey to a new and better home and explores how a family can be separated but reunited, portrayed through the unwavering loyalty of Shadow, the leader of the tribe.

Oskar Leonard is a trans author, poet and illustrator from the UK, as well as a beta-reader and proofreader through Fiverr. He has written fifteen books: six novels, five poetry collections, three novellas and a short story collection.

His short works have been featured in publications such as The Meadowlark Review, Pen & Quill and Juven. He has achieved a First Class Honours BA in English Literature with Creative Writing from Edge Hill University.
