It has been discovered that there is one science where the foundation of the science was based on completely wrong assumptions, and on that crooked foundation people have tried to develop a reliable science and treat people with those conditions, but ended up with a science cluttered with irrational, unproven elements and guesswork, but the science in a funny sort of way still worked!

It is unbelievable that since the discovery and report of colour blindness in 1793 by John Dalton (then referred to as Daltonism), and the identification of three types of colour blindness by Johannes von Kries in 1895, (based on earlier work of Hermann von Helmholtz and Thomas Young) no scientist in more than 130 years have realised or discovered that their theories were from day one up to today based on the wrong assumptions.

In studying bird colours for more than 45 years, the author discovered and identified 5 inheritable gene defects in birds that result in changes in bird's feather colours. That is in addition to 3 other defects that were already described at that stage, however flawed. He then discovered that all 8 of these gene defects are alsopresent in humans and responsible for the human eye converting colours incorrectly and it is now exactly determinable and measurable. It also manifests in other colour related systems of the human body.

He also discovered that the present day colour blindness theory has developed from a wrong assumption and on the wrong colour system as its foundation. It has developed as a cluttered and in many ways illogical science, while, in fact, it should have been one of the easiest sciences to establish.

The contents of this remarkable book summarizes the author's updated research, firstly to prove that the causes of colour blindness up to now have been studied and explained from a completely wrong assumption (colour system), which, after his discoveries now makes colour blindness very easy to identify and understand. Secondly the colour blindness and deficiencies in humans are caused by gene defects; exactly the same defects that occur in bird's colouring systems. These defects can now be easily identified and studied.

Lastly, by studying the origin of colour defects in birds, possible cures can be developed for colour blindness and colour deficiencies in humans from knowledge obtained from experiments with birds. Studying birds are quick, easy and less costly with very little human moral issues attached, which makes it ideal.

Where optometrists and physicians up to now had to work through a set of 38 Ishihara Colour Plates to try and determine if and what type of colour deficiency exists in a patient, it can now be achieved in a few seconds by using only a few colour plates that the author has developed. They are included in the book.

This book lays down a new foundation for the study and identification of colour blindness, and predicts the development of either prevention or cure measures. Truly a science redefined.
