Autorenporträt
Sara Armstrong is an adventurer, wife, mother, widow, single parent, caregiver, mayor, grandmother, and great-grandmother- a true survivor of numerous life transitions. She is a seminary graduate with a master's degree in religious education from Claremont School of Theology.

Born in Chicago, Illinois, she joined the Peace Corps in 1966 for two years of adventure. She married a Ugandan in 1968 and began a journey through the terror and chaos of Idi Amin Dada. Sara lived as an ordinary person, giving her a unique view of the destruction of a thriving nation. Her book, The Shattered Pearl, is a vivid, terrifying, inspiring account of those years in Africa. It is available on numerous platforms.

After returning from Uganda, Sara was widowed and threw her energies into raising two children, taking care of her aging parents, and participating in local politics. She helped to incorporate and served as the first Mayor of the Town of Shorter, Alabama.

In 1992, Sara married Bob Armstrong. Bob passed away in 2006 from cancer. In 2007 Sara moved to Atlanta, Georgia to be close to her family. She has two children, eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Sara's creative passions are sharing her faith and helping those dealing with grief and loss using her social media page Grateful Grief and YouTube channel Faithteachersara. She enjoys writing innovative fiction, prayers, and motivational presentations.
