Byung-Gyu Kim, PhD, is a principal researcher at the Institute for Basic Science (IBS) in Korea, specializing in biomedical science and proteomics. Inspired by Buddhist philosophy, he values compassion in both research and storytelling. Dr. Kim seeks to develop safer medicines that do not require animal testing and plans to launch a biotech startup for innovative drug side effect treatments. He is currently writing the science fiction novel "Metastasis," which explores life and transformation through a philosophical lens. His books encourage children to face fear and imagine a future full of hope.
