Old friends. Unfinished business. An opportunity to make it right.

Lily Mendes and Joshua Cohen were best friends who nearly became something more... until one fateful night pulled them apart.

Nineteen years later, Josh is a devoted son, loyal brother, and committed physician. He's not looking for love-just no-strings companionship. The only one he is interested in committing to is his rescue dog, Ginger.

Hundreds of miles away, Lily only wants to feel safe, enjoy her work at the hospital, and avoid triggering her overbearing mother. Dating isn't even on her radar-she can barely stand to be alone with herself, let alone someone else. But just before Yom Kippur, a series of unexpected events will lead her to reconsider everything... and Josh finds himself back in her life at exactly the wrong-or maybe the right-time.

Delayed Intention is a heartfelt story of friendship, forgiveness, and the possibility of a second chance.

Autorenporträt
Barbara Rachel is the pen name for Barbara Chalom (pronounced Shalom), a native Washingtonian who lives in suburban Maryland with her husband, children, and a dog named Biscuit (as in the cookie, not the breakfast side). When not fretting over her writing, Barbara may be found working overnight at a local hospital, hiking with her dog, chasing after her children, combing through family genealogy records, or hiding out at home-lost in a romance book or movie, usually something much darker and spicier than she writes. Barbara primarily writes cozy romance novels centered on themes of healing after trauma and the pursuit of a well-earned happily ever after.
