S.K. Oshi is an author of science fiction who enjoys writing stories about human values and beliefs are entangled in far away worlds. As a former professional futurist, he enjoys building worlds where alternative technologies, political structures, and complex characters get entangled in unique ways and create settings for timeless human struggles: belonging, identity, love, justice, and faith.
His writing is shaped, in part, by his work as a scholar and practitioner of design. He holds a Ph.D. in Digital Media from Georgia Institute of Technology, and has taught interaction design, futures, and philosophy, both in formal and informal settings.
S.K. is originally from Uzbekistan, a Muslim-majority multicultural country in the heart of Central Asia, a region with ancient and complex history that was once the center of a global civilization. His name is derived from the word Osh, a city in Central Asia, home to many of his ancestors and extended family. He currently resides in the Atlanta metro area with his family and two dogs. In his free time, S.K. enjoys hiking, playing tennis, and experimenting with digital art.
