This volume focuses on the analysis of the cultural relations between Germany and Denmark in the 18th century and therefore sets a new standard in research. With the help of specific case studies, the contributors analyse the discourses in which German-Danish enlightenment was negotiated. The contributors analyse media, especially moral weeklies but also letters, memoirs and paratexts as well as network constellations characterised by friendship, admiration, authority, opposition or even competition. Both aspects play a major role in the research of the phenomenon "enlightenment" in a German-Danish perspective.
