Produktbeschreibung
Displacement challenges us to rethink community, identity, and belonging. Richly illustrated and grounded in decades of research, it goes beyond the study of human displacement it is a call to action. Louw explores the physical and emotional spaces we inhabit, from Cape Coast's grassroots spirituality to the digital landscapes of the metaverse, offering insights into our universal longing for connection.
In a world fractured by dislocation, he presents a vision of healing and coexistence, urging us to embrace spirituality as a bridge to dignity and peace. He interdisciplinary approach highlights the vital role of faith communities in fostering resilience and meaning amid injustice and loss.
Through powerful metaphors, including the African concept of ubuntu ("I am because you are"), Louw invites readers to rediscover one another in shared spaces of transformation and communal healing.

With his vast theological acumen and everyday South African experience, Daniël Louw takes the concept of displacement and broadens its meaning not only to include the physical, but also the emotional, cultural, spiritual/religious, economical, and political.
This monumental work (...) is fundamentally thought-provoking
Prof Theuns Eloff
Independent commentator
Former rector of Northwest University, Potchefstroom

No one writes quite like Daniël Louw. His gift is to weave together philosophical, biblical, theological, psychological, political and ethical thought creatively and incisively. Very few practical theologians would be able to achieve what Daniël Louw has achieved here.

Migrating between Athens (cooperative, commonwealth democracy), via Jerusalem (peaceful hope), by means of metaverse thinking (cyberspatial digitalisation).

Then to the Cape Coast (grassroots spaza economy and township spirituality), Cape L'Agulhas (the yearning for compassionate coexistence in a post-apartheid society) and, finally, to necropolis (graceful dying and peaceful resting place).
