Volume Two of my MacEwan Trilogy has the irascible reporter Alec MacEwan back on top, thanks to the Consortium and their vision of an online newspaper.

A friend of Alec's gets wrongfully arrested, charged and jailed pending his trial. He is remanded to the Metropolitan Regional Detention Center in Scarborough.

Alec goes to bail out his friend only to discover he had been found beaten to death. All hell breaks loose and the Consortium goes to press championing ALEC's friend.

Government malfeasance and bad faith employment practices are uncovered (issues that are real and still prevalent) and fingers are pointed as Alec does battle with correctional officers and the local union.

While this blows up and becomes a political hot potato, Alec finds himself at odds with the Consortium.

In addition he has to deal with his ex wife and estranged daughter. As this unfolds Alec finds himself in a vulnerable situation his entire future and rebirth as a celebrated reporter is once again at risk.
