In the first story the Dianna, the daughter of Zoe and Todd disappears down New River. From the daughter's vantage she visits another world which enters into this world in surprising ways. In the second story, the couple try to help save their marriage by having an adventure together on a trip to Europe where they agree to do one wild thing in each country. This leads to unexpected complications which needs their daughter to help resolve.

The author, who grew up in the wooded regions of northern Alabama, has been a frequent visitor to the New River region. Over the years, he has photographed the river and its seasons. Imagining a some-when, he also draws upon his teaching/research on Eastern Woodland Cosmology and his own symbolic experiences to write, Down New River & Another World
