It's an attempt to give voice to the voiceless- a shout into the silence. This isn't an academic study looking back at history in the rearview mirror. It's a cry- perhaps imperfect- against silence in the face of injustice. A cry against apathy as the norm.

Autorenporträt

Steven Javaherian, Ph.D. is an Iranian-American writer and human rights advocate. He immigrated to the United States at a young age with his family during the authoritarian regime of the Shah of Iran. Like many who fled repression, he viewed America as a beacon of freedom and democracy-a place where truth could be spoken and dignity preserved, and where he believed was worthy of raising a family and planting roots. He graduated from Florida International University and pursued advanced doctoral studies in clinical pastoral psychology at Lafayette University. Dr. Javaherian was the founder and executive director of the Center for Effective Change, a private psychotherapy practice. For decades, he lectured nationwide on topics related to family psychological wellness, helping individuals and communities heal across cultural, emotional, and spiritual divides. A passionate world traveler, he established and directed a non-governmental organization in cooperation with the Cross Cultural Development Institution in East Africa, offering educational workshops to families affected by HIV/AIDS and malaria in rural Tanzania. In 2009, Dr. Javaherian participated in and voiced his views at the United Nations International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda genocide hearings in Africa. However, it was during his 2007 journey to the Occupied Palestinian Territories, Israel, and other Middle Eastern countries that his understanding of global injustice and violation of Human Rights deepened profoundly. Bearing witness to the lives of ordinary Palestinians living under extraordinary suffering forever altered his path-and planted the seeds of this book. He currently resides in Northern California.
