Take a closer look at your neighbours on the bus, in the shops, and on the street. Where did they come from? What did they do in their working lives? What can they still do, despite their age or current disability? What makes life easy or difficult for them? Listen to them. Let them tell you about their loves, fears, ambitions, and needs. Share your own stories with them. These people are part of an increasingly varied contemporary Britain. Value them, as these poems do, upon reading Robert Ferguson's "Everyone On My Street."

Autorenporträt
After a diverse and fulfilling career as an academic, civil servant, and international management consultant, retirement allowed Robert Ferguson to rediscover his early passion for imaginative writing, a pursuit he had loved since childhood. Finding himself in the West Midlands of England, he discovered a rich and dynamic literary culture that inspired him to immerse himself in writing and publishing. His work spans short stories, poetry, reviews, and a novel, each reflecting his sharp insights and storytelling skill. Over time, his efforts earned recognition, with his pieces frequently published and occasionally winning awards for their originality and depth. For Robert, retirement has become a deeply rewarding chapter, where the joy of storytelling shapes his days. A lifetime traveller, Robert draws on rich memories of places, people and animals - especially cats! - to reflect the world for which he retains a deep and passionate love.
