Nanotechnology has been recognized for its transformative potential across various industries for decades, sparking widespread interest among researchers and innovators seeking to explores its capabilities for sustainable solutions. It remains one of the most dynamic and extensively studied fields in modern science. Nanotechnology involves the manipulation of matter at the nanoscale, where unique properties of materials emerge due to their size and structure. These nanomaterials play a pivotal role in advancing applications in energy, healthcare, environmental remediation and sustainable economic development. In recent years, green nanotechnology, particularly the eco-friendly synthesis of nanomaterials, has gained significant attention for its ability to minimize environmental impact while maximizing efficiency. Nanomaterials exhibit remarkable properties such as enhanced strength, conductivity and reactivity that make them indispensable in addressing global challenges like climate change, water scarcity and healthcare innovation, positioning nanotechnology as a cornerstone of sustainable progress.

The book delves into the structural and functional properties of nanomaterials, which are critical for their applications in clean energy production, environmental remediation, water treatment and healthcare. It highlights their environmental significance, including their use in mitigating climate change, enhancing construction materials, and developing fire-retardant solutions. The fundamentals of nanotechnology are thoroughly explored, alongside cutting-edge developments in synthesis, characterization methods, and applications, covering chemical, optical, thermal, and structural properties. Additionally, the book addresses the environmental fate, health hazards, and regulatory frameworks of nanomaterials, offering a balanced perspective on their deployment. With contributions from leading experts, this book serves as an authoritative resource for researchers, policymakers, and industry professionals to drive sustainable economic growth while addressing pressing global challenges.
