School didn't teach us how to build wealth. This book will.

Most of us were never taught how money really works. At least not in a way that felt practical, clear, or doable. Financial Fluency in Dad-Speak is a calm, encouraging guide that cuts through the noise, skips the shame, and focuses on what actually works in the real world. It's told by a dad who respects you enough to explain the why, not just the how.

Whether you're just starting out or looking for a financial reset, this book fills in the gaps with approachable, real-world money guidance that meets you where you are.

This is not about strict budgets or following one-size-fits-all rules. It's about building a mindset and habits that help you make steady progress by learning how money really works. It's about getting a wide-angle view of wealth-building so you can make better choices, take smarter steps, and let those results compound over time.

Inside, you'll learn how to:

  • Understand the landscape of personal finance without feeling overwhelmed
  • Make more thoughtful decisions about debt, saving, and investing
  • Create a plan that fits your goals, values, and real-world circumstances
  • Use practical tools to build wealth at a pace that makes sense for you
  • Approach money with clarity instead of fear, shame, or frustration

This book is for you if:

  • You're a young adult navigating financial independence for the first time
  • You're a parent, mentor, or educator looking to pass on real-world money guidance
  • You're mid-career and ready to rework your financial plan
  • You've ever felt left out, behind, or overwhelmed by money talk

If you've ever thought, "I wish someone had explained this sooner," this book was written with you in mind.

Autorenporträt
I didn't grow up with wealth. I didn't inherit it, marry into it, or stumble across some secret formula. What I did was keep learning, keep questioning, and keep showing upeven when the financial path ahead wasn't all that clear. That persistence helped me reach what I call "mostly retired" by 52.

The lessons I share came from real-life trial and error: in the stock market, real estate, note investingand maybe most importantly, in unlearning the idea that wealth is only for the lucky or the gifted.

I wrote this book after realizing I'd learned things I wish I could've taught my sons before they left home. So I wrote it for themand for anyone else trying to figure out how money works in a world that doesn't make it easy to understand.

My style is part dad, part coach, part straight-talking guideand it comes from a place of genuine care. I believe wealth accumulation is difficult, but doable. And I want you to know: you can do this.
