Autorenporträt

Mike Burnett has spent most of his life among the apple trees of Tasman, New Zealand, where the rhythm of the orchard and the antics of farm life have shaped both his work and imagination. The orcharding life has allowed Mike the pleasure of working with people from around the worldsharing knowledge, Stories, learning, and pride in the land.

His favorite memories are the quiet ones: reading bedtime stories to his son (now 30), and watching the world unfold from the back porch with his partner Cath and their two cats, Finnley and Tui.

4 Bird Finnley is inspired by the real Finnley, a scar-faced farm cat with a flair for mischief and a heart full of charm. This is Mike's first children's book, blending rural wisdom with whimsical storytellingand the beginning of many more Finnley adventures to come.
