Back is the sinisterly mundane King of Flies, still trying to win his bet with Time herself concerning who will bring about the end of the world first. And introducing Allie, a manipulative minor demon with a chip on her shoulder, with the ability to cause people to choke on fish bones.

When Mister Posted and Sharon arrive at the town of Ludington, Allie sees in the Brain Freeze Goddess an opportunity to get out of her own routine-and will stop at nothing to obtain the power she feels she so rightfully deserves. Meanwhile, the King of Flies has cruel designs of his own to convince Mister Posted to quit the position of Famine, paving the way to install someone who would be more compliant with his apocalyptic goals.
