Tried and tested on a New Zealand Cub Pack to ensure that they are fun (they are!) this book is also dedicated to the memory of Akela Anne Olsen who passed away in the intervening time. Anne believed that Cub Scout activities had to be, first and foremost, fun, practical and, wherever possible, done outdoors. Whilst these 'experiments' are not especially outdoorsy they meet the fun and hands-on criteria. Although a teacher by profession Anne was also adamant that Cubs and Scouts should not be like school. With this in mind, the layout of each experiment tells you what you need and how to do it first with the science bit very much as an add-on at the end some children will be interested some won't and that's OK.

This book is also a fundraiser for St James Sea Scouts Cub pack with all profits going to support the delivery of more fun activities like these. The first book was free, and still is, so we hope that you won't mind paying for this one to support our cub pack.
