From Plato to the present day, political theorists have used models of idealistic societies to think about politics. David Wiens is an Associate Professor of Political Science and a Faculty Affiliate in Philosophy at the University of California, San Diego. He has published numerous articles on methodology in political theory and related topics in journals such as American Journal of Political Science, Journal of Political Philosophy, Journal of Politics, Philosophy and Phenomenological Research, Philosophy and Public Affairs, and Politics, Philosophy, and Economics. He holds a M.A. in Political Science and a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Michigan.
