Garuda dvadashanama Stotra is a short yet powerful hymn on lord garuda, describing his greatness comprised of twelve names, each of these names also remind us the suparnopakhyana of adi parva of Mahabharata. From his birth, taking the nectar from the gods to free his mother from slavery, meeting lord Vishnu and getting boons from him, becoming a friend of indra, and getting boons from him etc. reciting this protects us from venom, poisons and violent creatures, garuda also grants us victory in battles and other dealings and liberates us from bondage.

This book also includes two dhyana shlokas (verses of contemplation) of garuda, you will find them in between the explanations given to the names.

While explaining the meanings incidents from garuda's life and pastime as given in the adi parva of Mahabharata, sometimes garuda related shlokas from other puranas have been cited.
