Produktbeschreibung
There is a complicated interplay between gender dynamics and technology in the digital age, especially through social media. Combining the knowledge of seasoned professionals and academics from around the world, this new book investigates the complex and multifaceted relationship between gender and social media, providing an interdisciplinary and international viewpoint on the subject.

Each chapter of the book presents a distinctive viewpoint on the interaction between gender and social media. The book first provides a summary of the theoretical foundations and then delves into how social media platforms mediate and reflect societal constructs of gender and how those assumptions shape online experiences. The book also discusses how gender representation on social media platforms may either challenge conventional standards or reinforce stereotypes. The book observes how social media contributes to activism and social change, discussing how it has been used by feminist movements, LGBTQ+ activism, and diverse programs to address gender inequality. The book goes into further detail about these platforms' darker sides, including issues that include cyberbullying, harassment, and privacy worries that disproportionately affect women and other underrepresented groups.
