Author Katie Brown isthe young woman who Rock & Ice magazine dubbed "The Best Female Climber of the Millennium". As the first woman to onsight 5.13d (Omaha Beach, Red River Gorge, Kentucky) and flash 5.14a (Hydrophobia, Mont Sant, Spain) Katie Brown has been an influential and groundbreaking climber, male or female. She began climbing at age 13 and quickly dominated competition at the national and international level. Now in her mid-20s, she is a freelance writer, author of the book Vertical World (Falcon), and continues to travel the world as an elite professional climber.

Photographer Ben Moon is an internationally reknowned outdoor photographer specializing in rock climbing and surfing. He has been featured in such magazines as Outside, Surfer, Rock & Ice, Mens Journal, National Geographic Adventure and regularly shoots for clients such as Yakima, Timberline, Patagonia, Solomon, and Black Diamond.
