The book "Glimpses of World History" was written in English by the great Indian leader Jawaharlal Nehru when he was imprisoned because of his struggle for the freedom and independence of his country. The book is in the form of letters addressed by Nehru to his daughter, "Indira." The number of these letters is 196 letters, and their pages are about a thousand pages. It took about three years to write: from October 1930 to August 1933. The credit for the appearance of these letters goes to his sister, "Vijaya Lakshmi Pandit." It was arranged and prepared for publication in 1934 under the name "Glimpses of World History." The value of this precious book is not in its content or the historical material that the reader finds between its pages about nations and their historical roles, but rather its value is in the effort that the author made in investigating the history of nations from the most reliable sources that were available to him in prison, and then in presenting this history in a concise form. Overall, there is hardly any color missing that complements the image.
