Guilt has a bad reputation. In today's world-and even in many churches-we've come to associate repentance with shame, fear, and failure. But what if we've misunderstood its purpose?

Guilt has a bad reputation. In today's world-and even in many churches-we've come to associate repentance with shame, fear, and failure. But what if we've misunderstood its purpose?

Good Guilt invites us to rediscover repentance as one of the most joyful and freeing practices of the Christian life. With clarity, compassion, and pastoral wisdom, Kelly McCuaig turns cultural assumptions upside down to reveal how biblical repentance isn't about self-condemnation-it's about returning to the love of a God who delights in healing and restoring us.

Rooted in Scripture and enriched by real-life ministry experience, Good Guilt explores:

  • Why repentance is not a one-time event but a lifelong rhythm
  • How guilt, rightly understood, can lead to spiritual healing
  • What it means to repent in a culture that avoids responsibility
  • How churches can recover this lost practice without resorting to legalism or fear

Through storytelling, theology, and practical tools, McCuaig offers a new vision for repentance-one that trades performance for presence, shame for grace, and fear for joy. Whether you're a pastor longing for deeper discipleship or a believer seeking renewal, Good Guilt will help you walk in faithfulness, freedom, and the surprising joy of turning back to God.
