"We met in a room where we weren't allowed to fall in love."
Set against the backdrop of an LGBTIQ+ faith and activism workshop in Lesotho, this is the true story of an unexpected connection between a young Mosotho writer and a Ghanaian facilitator. "We met in a room where we weren't allowed to fall in love."

Set against the backdrop of an LGBTIQ+ faith and activism workshop in Lesotho, this is the true story of an unexpected connection between a young Mosotho writer and a Ghanaian facilitator. Forced to keep their love hidden by the very rules meant to keep them safe, their bond deepens through stolen glances, whispered moments, and a cold swim that warmed their hearts.

But love isn't always enough.

When distance, silence, and reality pull them apart, the narrator begins a deeply personal journey of heartbreak, healing, and rediscovery - one that stretches from the quiet hills of Maseru to the loud questions inside their soul.

This memoir explores the intersections of love, queerness, vulnerability, and courage - and what it means to be seen, chosen, and left behind.
