Microtunnelling and ventilation are also dealt with. All chapters include practical examples.

Derzeit ist Prof. Maidl Partner der MTC - Maidl Tunnelconsultants GmbH & Co. KG, München und Duisburg. Dr. Ulrich Maidl ist Geschäftsführer der MTC - Maidl Tunnelconsultants GmbH & Co. KG, München und Duisburg sowie öffentlich bestellter und vereidigter Sachverständiger für Tunnelbau und Mikrotunnelbau. Prof. Dr.-Ing. Markus Thewes leitet den Lehrstuhl für Tunnelbau, Leitungsbau und Baubetrieb an der Ruhr-Universität Bochum und ist in nationalen und internationalen Verbänden aktiv.
