Dr John A. Hamil, DVM is a graduate of Oklahoma State University's veterinary school. He tends to his popular small-animal practice at Canyon Animal Hospital in California, while remaining active in animal welfare concerns. These include the American Veterinary Medical Association's Animal Welfare Committee, the California Counsel of Companion Animal Advocates, and the National Council on Pet Population Study and Policy. Dr. Hamil is a past president of the California Veterinary Medical Association.
