Produktbeschreibung
In the spirit of her best selling book "Meditation for Angry People" Pearl Howie delivers another easy to read, gently humorous and compassionate book on understanding the challenges we may face in being healthy - mind, body and spirit.

We are still at the very beginning of fully understanding the human brain. We know that there are chemicals which make us feel good - nicknamed happy chemicals - which are also essential or influential in almost all of the processes in our bodies. We are still understanding how they are produced, how the parts of the brain which produce them can recover from injury, how they work together or against each other. We are still researching, but we know they're involved in health conditions including:

Depression,

Mood disorders,

Long Covid,

Fatigue,

Lack of Motivation,

Low confidence,

Anxiety,

Chronic Pain,

Addiction,

Self-Harm,

Migraine,

Dementia,

Parkinson's Disease,

Alzheimer's Disease,

Fibromyalgia,

Chronic fatigue syndrome,

ME,

Neuropathic pain,

Sleep disorders,

Cancer,

Bone health,

Kidney function,

Heart health,

Cardiovascular issues,

Nausea and vomiting,

Sexual function,

Regulating body temperature,

Learning and memory,

Movement and coordination,

Insulin secretion and blood sugar management,

Urination,

Brain fog,

Appetite and weight management,

Blood clotting and healing,

Menstruation, pregnancy, perimenopause, menopause and breast feeding,

Issues with personal relationships including building trust and empathy,

Gastrointestinal disorders and even

Addiction to exercise.

If you, like me, are affected with problems with any of these, well... we could wait for all the scientists to do all the research studies they can dream up, or we can take action right now to understand what we think we know right now, new possibilities for healing and even how our own individual bodies manage our happy chemicals and do our best to be happy, healthy humans.

"To me, you are a hero... What an adventure!" Susan Jeffers, Ph.D., author of "Feel The Fear And Do It Anyway"

Autorenporträt
Since 2010, I've been the Explorer-in-Chief of Pearl Escapes, the organisation I set up to share all the most wonderful things (escapes) I could find around the world. I've shared Zumba, traditional healing, spiritual practices, my own deeply personal story of being a kidney donor and my adventures around the world.

After studying in person with don Miguel Ruiz and his sons in 2016, I was fortunate enough to be able to complete an online apprenticeship with them during the pandemic.

I've studied with Beto Perez, the founder of Zumba® Fitness and the top Zumba Instructors in the world. My biggest achievement was rolling out Zumba Gold. When I began, there were no classes in my area of London, let alone chair classes by the time I left there were 22 taught by other instructors.

I studied Maths at university because I loved the black and white of it, but then it started to become more complicated, less absolute and I couldn't handle those shades of grey, the spaces in the knowing. I got my degree but then walked away, falling in love with film, eventually getting a Masters degree and making a dance movie. Through Buddhism I learned to love the spaces in between, the mystery of life and this last practical experiment, this recent journey has shown me, magically that so many things come back around to the beginning, whether it's Maths (which is also problem solving) or the title of my feature film, because I've learned so powerfully, from the last few years, that we have "Everything To Dance For".
