Autorenporträt

Dr. J. Franklin Tillery is currently the pastor of a church in Texas. He and his wife, Barbara, have lived in five countries and moved over thirty-two times, but after forty-seven years of marriage, they have finally put down roots! Before retiring from the military in 2016, he served on a forward observer team in the US Army Field Artillery (1972-1976). He began his ministry among the Plymouth Brethren in 1977. During his pastoral career, he served as the associate pastor of the Arab Church of Dallas (1984-1987); pastor of Denali Bible Chapel in Fairbanks, Alaska (1987-1991); academic dean of the Jordanian Evangelical Theological Seminary (1991-1992) and pastor of the International Church in Amman, Jordan (1992-1996). In 1996, he joined the United States Air Force as a chaplain. During his Air Force career, he served at nine duty stations and deployed in support of Operations Northern Watch, Southern Watch, Desert Fox, Joint Forge, and Unified Protector. He also provided direct combat support during Operation Inherent Resolve. Through the power of God, though he never stepped foot in a high school as a student, in 1981, he received his GED and a bachelor's degree in secondary education. He has since earned four master's degrees and a doctorate.
