The job might seem cushy, involving a lot of sleeping in chairs and napping on books, except for one glitch: characters sometimes come out of their books at night. Little Henry, with the help of his wacky magic and some surprising allies, must get these audacious (or loud-mouthed), tenacious (or pushy) travelers (or invaders) back into their books before anyone knows they ever went on their incredible outings.

In his first adventure, Henry has to find a way to get Long John Silver back into Treasure Island. But how can a kitten wrangle a murderous pirate? If that's not enough of a challenge for the little cat, he must help Dracula break a centuries-old curse on his family-without getting bitten by the count, broiled alive by a dragon, or foiled by his funky magic.

Is the little kitten ready to be the Guardian of the bookstore? After this first adventure with a homicidal pirate and spectacularly uncanny vampire, does Henry even want the job?
