Thesis Abstract, Introduction, and Table of Contents

This research examines the archaeological and material evidence shedding light on aspects of the life of Agrippa I as revealed in historical sources, including potential non-natural reasons for the shortness of his reign. Beginning with an examination of building projects in Judaea and Syria attributed to his grandfather, Herod I (the Great), it aims to reveal Herod's cultural identity and how this might differ from Agrippa I's own approach.

True Crime Mystery: Investigate the political intrigue and true crime elements surrounding Agrippa I's sudden death. Was it an assassination? This research explores the political motives and toxicological factors that might provide non-natural reasons for the brevity of his reign.

Key Points -- This multiple-volume book complication will cover:

  • Archaeological and Material Evidence: Examine the evidence related to Agrippa I's life and reign.
  • Historical Sources: Analyze historical sources to uncover aspects of Agrippa I's rule and demise.
  • Building Projects: Investigate building projects in Judaea and Syria attributed to Herod I (the Great) to understand his cultural identity.
  • Comparative Analysis: Compare Herod I's and Agrippa I's approaches to rule and governance.
  • Legacy and Impact: Assess Agrippa I's impact on Judaea and the broader historical context.

Written by a classical archaeologist and qualified physician, this thesis combines historical analysis with true crime investigation, offering a meticulous examination of Agrippa I's life and the mysterious circumstances of his death.
