Hey, Sport! It's Me, Your Dad. isn't a self-help book: it's advice from one man to any son, regardless of age, that could use some fatherly perspective. Created from real conversations with the authors' sons and nephews, it's the kind of talk a dad has with his son over some pizza and chicken wings when the truth matters more than good vibes. It's not going to lie to you about "the system" or belittle you for being a man and going through some stuff in your life. At all times, it tries to meet you, a real person, in the actual world you will have to navigate through. 100% authentic "DADvice:"…mehr

100% authentic "DADvice:" sometimes funny, sometimes awkward, but always coming from a place of love and real life experience. From talking about surviving school, puberty, leadership, and (yes) sex and relationships, the quick daily advice contained within are not commandments from above, but lessoned learned and shared. Because being a man isn't about acting tough or getting everything right, it's about showing up, learning, and trying again with a better head and sharper heart. A lot of self-help for boys and young men want you to feel powerful by making yourself a victim. This book, will just treat you like a regular guy who has the potential to become great with just a little bit more wisdom and perspective. Real men look out for future men.

Autorenporträt
Dr. Bassette (not, "save your life," kind of doctor, but "reads a lot and knows trivia about the ancient spice trade" kind of doctor) lives in Seoul, the Republic of Korea, with his wife Mihye, son Jay, sister-in-law Eunhye, and nephew Seogyun. He currently serves as a Korean Government Official and Global Studies Professor (hence all of the weird references throughout the book. Sorry about that). A former military Noncommissioned Officer (the under-paid kind of officer), Bassette has lived in 14 US states and five different countries, which created a great interest in learning about and studying other cultures and people. He is an International Relations Master's and Doctoral graduate of Korea University (a school so famous, they named two countries after it). He grew up with the classic writings of C.S. Lewis, G.K. Chesterton, Frank Peretti, and Madeleine L'Engle. None of whom wrote anything even close to his book in terms of style, tone, or ineptitude. He sincerely hopes that they do not judge him too harshly and will still allow him into the Kingdom of Heaven.
