But, how will this alternate history play out? The White Sox struggle far more than they did in Chicago after playoff pushes in 1993-4. Labor peace may have come in this world's '94, but with owners fighting steroids early instead in an attempt to keep salaries down, a strike may come later instead. And, more franchise moves may be on the way. Will Sarah wind up in a career in sports, where she seems to be a natural? Or, will her struggles and need for acceptance and certainty lead her elsewhere? Now with an Epilogue for 2024 showing further baseball history and the aftermath of Hurricanes Helene and Milton in the area.

Doug Fowler has written several baseball alternate histories, and has a huge love for the game before all the recent problems of the last few decades. Another of his books, "Completed Game," explores baseball with no 1994 strike where they fight steroids instead here, they fight them even earlier to keep salaries down, but with no collusion, the economics are still rough. However, Doug sticks to the play on the field and the impact on favrious young fans, including what happens to the Tampa White Sox, Arizona Athletics, and others in a game that stays at 28 teams due to quite a few clubs moving.
