Amy Roberta Ruck was a prolific Welsh writer known for over ninety romance novels published between 1905 and 1972. She also authored short stories, an autobiography, and two memoir collections. Born on August 2, 1878, in Murree, Pakistan, to Arthur Ashley Ruck and Elizabeth Eleanor Ruck, she lived to the age of 100, passing away on August 11, 1978, in Aberdyfi, United Kingdom. In 1909, she married Oliver Onions, and during their marriage until 1918, she was known as Mrs. Oliver Onions. After her husband changed his name in 1918, she became Amy Oliver. The couple had two children named Arthur Oliver and William Richard Oliver. Amy's writing career spanned many decades, and her work contributed significantly to the romance genre, alongside her other literary efforts such as autobiographical and memoir writings. Her life and work reflected both her Welsh heritage and a broad literary influence throughout the 20th century.
