This is not a long book. It does not need to be. Its purpose is two fold. Firstly: to show holiness is the standard Christian life from Gods point of view. Secondly: to reveal from the New Testament a holy life is a gift to us through Jesus' suffering, death, burial, and resurrection. Isaiah chapter 35 in the Old Testament speaks of a Holy Highway - constructed and waiting for the redeemed to walk upon it. It is a metaphor for the finished atoning work of Jesus. We do not work at attaining holiness. We receive it into ourselves as a gift from Jesus through the Gospel. Much wrong teaching has kept many Christians out of the experience of holiness and living a spurious life not supported by the New Testament. The life of holiness is there, like the Holy Highway, waiting for us to step into it and begin walking in a new experience. Isaiah in Chapter 35 tells us the result of walking on the Holy Highway will be: coming to Zion with singing, obtaining gladness and joy, everlasting joy upon our heads, and sorrow and sighing fleeing away. Believe and receive.
