The novel "I Am Leaving" is one of the most famous romantic novels by Fares, the great writer Youssef Al-Sibai. It revolves around a girl from a wealthy and prosperous family who fell in love with a young man from her simple relatives, but her family forces her to marry someone she does not love from the same social class as her. The girl escapes, and the events of the novel take her through many turns, between overwhelming love, lost hope, unexpected betrayal, and dramatic transformations that do not stop until the novel reaches the end. As a result of its tight plot and interesting dramatic form, the novel was turned into a movie in 1955, and then into a drama series in 1976.
