Produktbeschreibung
This book is written with the heart of a caretaker in the healthcare field - not as a theoretical thesis, but as a practical and warm guide for those of you who encounter people with autism and intellectual disabilities in everyday life. With concise and easy-to-read language, the book shows how you can contribute to a better everyday life for these wonderful people in a safe, caring, and structured way. The goal is to promote good attitudes, increase knowledge, strengthen awareness of your own role, inspire good interaction. Through real practical examples, reflections, and thoughts, the book provides concrete advice on how to facilitate predictability and coping, and at the same time prevent anxiety and stress. This is not a definitive answer, but a practical support that you can take with you in everyday life. You also get an insight into how life can be for people with autism and intellectual disabilities, through meetings with various, fictional people - inspired by real people I have had the pleasure of following through my work. This book is suitable for students, staff, educators, family, and friends - indeed, anyone close to someone with autism and intellectual disabilities. It is written with warmth, respect, and genuine love for the unique individuals who enrich our lives.
