Her titles hint at Mary Ellen Gambutti's diverse life story. She worked in health care and horticulture, until her major health crisis at age fifty-seven. Since stroke rehabilitation, she has focused on her love of words, reading widely and taking numerous online writing courses. Her lyrical writing and Japanese poetry has been published in many literary journals. She has published five books.
