Heidi Koland is the author and illustrator of If I Could Ride A Train. She is infinitely curious about the world around her and has been a landscape nature photographer for over 20 years and loves to use her photography to tell stories. She was born and raised in Minnesota and spent her childhood being curious about the outdoors - camping, hiking and later extended that outdoor attention into a passion for being kind to the earth and appreciating the natural beauty that surrounds us each day. She loves to explore the outdoors and use her imagination to create new games and works of play. Heidi now lives with her husband and 4-year son in Colorado and as a family, they continue to live the outdoors.
