When the author returned from his academic mission in France, which was recommended by the Dean of Arabic Literature Taha Hussein, his head was carrying many new and revolutionary ideas to study our Arabic literature and read it. It was a tendency for the French school in criticism, which uses the "applied curriculum" in studying literature, where you read the texts and explain them away from the control of scientific theories, through which theories and critical principles are drawn up with the help of language science. He wanted a new literature that comes out of the depths, addresses the mind and touches the conscience, free of the rhetoric and the glory of the industry, and the writer formulates it from life as if it is a piece of it. Mandour presents these opinions and literary battles resulting from them in a group of discreet articles that were published in the major literary magazines, and collects them in this book that places it in the hands of the reader.
