To read the ancient history books of Ibn Khaldun, Ibn al-Atheer, al-Tabari, al-Masoudi, Abu al-Fidaa and others; There is a great need to know the locations of the regions and countries mentioned in these venerable books. If he returns to modern maps, he does not find what he seeks there. Because the days pass over countries, and their sun sets with the sunrise of others, and their outlines become clear with the passage of years, just like time and its fluctuations, accidents, and cycles. Therefore, I created this historical map of the Islamic kingdoms, and this brief dictionary. Because modern dictionaries do not mention what was, and ancient dictionaries do not indicate what is now. The author paid special attention to identifying notable figures, relying on what has been achieved by trustworthy scholars, such as Yaqut, Abu al-Fida, al-Fayrouzabadi, and others.
