This book traces the origins and activities of an alliance of conservative Communist Party authorities and Russian nationalists during the late Soviet era. Kevin C. O'Connor is assistant professor of history at Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington. He holds a Ph.D in Russian and Soviet History from Ohio University and is author of The History of the Baltic States and the forthcoming Culture and Customs of the Baltic States.
