A powerful psychological thriller about secrets in a small English town from Sunday Times bestselling author D.L. Mark. Thirty years ago, three girls followed a stranger into the woods. Only two came back. Even now, the girls who returned are unable to remember what happened, or what the fate of the missing girl was. Locals in the Lake District whisper about hippies, drugs and mystic rituals, but nobody has learned the truth. Rowan Blake, a journalist struggling with debt and his past, has retreated to the Lake District to write. The story of the missing girl is just what he needs to rejuvenate his career. Yet Rowan isn't prepared for the evil he is about to unearth, for the truth is far darker than he or anyone else ever imagined. Into the Woods is a darkly captivating thriller perfect for fans of Alex Michaelides, Ruth Ware and Lisa Jewell. Reviews for D.L. Mark 'An extraordinary talent' M.W. Craven 'Dark, compelling crime writing of the highest order' Daily Mail 'Breathtaking' Peter May 'A wonderfully descriptive writer' Peter James
Autorenporträt
David Mark spent more than fifteen years as a journalist, including seven years as a crime reporter with the Yorkshire Post. His writing is heavily influenced by the court cases he covered: the defeatist and jaded police officers; the competent and incompetent investigators; the inertia of the justice system and the sheer raw grief of those touched by savagery and tragedy. He is also the author of the DS McAvoy series, and psychological suspense thrillers under the name D.L. Mark.
