Autorenporträt
Gus is retired and has written 13 prior picture books about Boar and Family. After Cindy illustrates, Gus then colors the pictures with colored pencils. Gus has a hand tremor, creating the unique characteristic lines in the illustrations. Gus has found that the use of a ruler is helpful to stop pencil lines from going out of the lines. A handy eraser is used frequently. If you look carefully, you may see where the author has colored outside the lines.
