"Izaldin" (Approx. 320 pages)

From the alleys of Jerusalem to the forests of Brazil, "Izaldin" unfolds as a gripping tale of intrigue and violence weaving together themes of family legacy, revenge and redemption, and drawing its characters into a treacherous landscape where the past and present, the real and the unreal, collide.

Hibah, a mystic with the ability to see beyond the veil, inadvertently connects the unborn son of Catherine, a young woman, and her husband Charles, a soldier caught in a world of danger, with the tortured spirit of a Fatmid warrior, sworn to avenge the murder of his own wife and child by Frankish knights during the First Crusade's brutal capture of Jerusalem.

As the story unfolds, it delves into the historical context of the Crusades, the complex interplay between faith, violence, and redemption. The city itself becomes a character, its ancient walls bearing witness to treachery, the relentless pursuit of power and the unbreakable bonds of family.

With every step, the shadows deepen, and the line between reality and the past blurs. This is a journey into the heart of darkness, from the Old World to the New, where the past haunts the present, and the very future of mankind itself hangs in the balance as Izz al-Din's bloody pursuit of Charles and his son Marcus is interrupted by the creation of five blastocysts, supposedly made with DNA taken from a Templar relic present at the Crucifixion.

Izz al-Din's theft of the blastocysts and subsequent impregnation of Maria Carmen dos Santos, a young sex worker and drug addict, leads to the arrival of a ruthless Vatican envoy and a violent reversal of roles that becomes a race to find and destroy Izz al-Din before he can birth the Antichrist.

"Izaldin" promises an unforgettable journey for anyone drawn to stories of adventure, mystery, and the unbreakable bonds of family.

Autorenporträt
Born in Birmingham, UK, to a teacher and a salesman, I studied Electronics and Computer Science before leaving for Austria, Congo and Nigeria to work in the oil industry. Some years later, armed with an MBA and several languages, I changed direction to take a job as an international development manager for a plastic company in Spain, Hungary, Argentina and Brazil, where the company went bust and I ended up stranded.
But it was by choice, and I'm still here eighteen years later, with a wife and child!
I tried my hand at running a gym, phone sales, the stock market and voluntary work, and even became a trainer in Neurolinguistic Programming. But I couldn't shake a nagging desire to write.
So I did.
I wrote and traditionally published three books in Portuguese (Ferramentas Mentais para Traders, Jeito Brasileiro and Soltando o Magro) before discovering self-publishing and writing two novels, Second Coming (historical/adventure fiction) and Tup (fiction, but based on real life and experience in Brazil).
My young son seems to be following in my footsteps. He's already written and illustrated two short stories and distributed them to his school friends with, arguably, more success and a larger readership than his father!
